So yeah, the whole basement thing didnt work out. Ask Kelly why, of course it wasnt completely his fault and it ended up being a disaster anyway...

I booked a show at the Clubhouse last weekend and it was amazing. I'm doing Ingsoc's cd release show on February 10th at the Underground in Indianapolis. Also a couple friends and I are talking about doing shows at the Lion's club in Alexandria, more info on this soon!

Sybilla and I have been talking about a lot of cool ideas.  If any of them pan out, it'll be a good time.  Also, new video up on the video page but you should be able to click here to view it.

About a week ago, a band e-mailed me about getting shows because the only place they could find to play was like bowling alleys. Audra and I got to talking and it hit us, we need a BIG punk rock bowling night. I thought it'd be cool because we could all bowl, have bands play, smoking and noise wouldn't be a problem, people over 21 could drink, etc. Let me know what you think.  akstenrberg@bsu.edu

The 6th annual bands and ramps jam is tomorrow.  It's on St. Rd. 15 somewhere.  There's going to be bands, BMX, and skating going on.  Later on in the day, there's a show in Kokomo, at the Kokomo Firehouse I think.  Don't really know who's playing either show but I'll probably be at one if not both.  The Bands and Ramps jam starts at 1:00pm and's free and the Kokomo show's at 5:00 or 6:00 and's $5 each.

There should be a video on my site, punksonbikes.com, of everything that's going to go down this weekend.

Woah! Long time no see, eh? All summer I had a little sad hole in my heart and now I"m happy again. BDTB is at a new venue in downtown Anderson called THE PARLOR OF DOOM. It's a little hole in the wall basement, with trash couches, spray painted walls and a little shelf full of zines. This time I'm not the only promoter. We've done four shows so far, two by Ben and I and two by Sly Eugene. We've got a bunch coming up so check this site every waking minute.

I love you guys!

Another thought: Wouldnt it be wonderful if this news page was filled with positive stories, future goals and raves on how amazing the bands are instead of me lecturing you like your mother does?

People always used to say that punk rock committed suicide. It wasn’t until tonight (well technically yesterday) that I realized how very true that is.

I pour my heart into this every single waking moment, just to get it stomped on and spit on and urinated on, over and over and over again. I love punk rock it's my life, but I'm really beginning to wonder if I've choosen the right path. I adore you all and I love this genre with all my heart please dont shit on the scene anymore. We all work so hard. Everyone involved: the bands, the promoters, and the community in whole has worked their asses off. Why do you want to destroy it, destroy what you yourself, (although you may not even know it) helped create. Over the last year every one of us has worked together to build this, don’t screw it up. Just by showing up you’re contributing.

I've been booking shows for almost two years now and I'd go to hell and back for the scene, and i know the other promoters feel the exact same way. Think about this next time you do donuts in the venues lawn, put out your cigarette on a roll of toilet paper, throw a pool ball through a window, sneak into a show when you have money to spare, piss on the bathroom floor, or steal the venues beer. Think about how your actions affect others. All we are trying to do is provide you with something more than just work and school and parents.  We're trying to create an outlet for you and the bands. We arent trying to get rich quick or provide party space for teenagers we're trying to build a community.

Every show someone does something stupid. There is no reason that Officer Ray should let us continue throwing shows, and after our encounter with him tonight I highly doubt he will. YOU are doing this I am doing this, were ruining an entire sub-culture, and shitting on it like freaking GG Allin and stupid Sid freaking Vicious. Sure the cops tell us no, we can just start booking somewhere else. Yeah, well guess again... Oddfellows marked up their price until we couldn’t afford it. We continued, and then some gangstas decided to rent it to throw a little heroin party or something and ruined everything. Civic Center? Remember that place? Well, a certain someone whose name I will not embarrass him by posting up threw a bunch of soap down a hallway and the owner called me up the next day complaining and said he wouldn’t rent it out to me anymore. Everywhere else is over priced.

I'm writing this on behalf of Amanda and Tyler as well, theyve got stomped on just as much if not more than i have and I'm sure they agree with most of what ive said. I'm not asking for much, I'm just asking that you use your head and respect the venue. The existence of this scene depends on you.

This is our last chance don’t blow it.

"dont make me grab your titties!"

I am so pissed off. I am so tired of all the beer, and violence and stupidy that comes along with this genre of music. Why does everyone feel the need to make everything suck for everyone else? Take a look at yourself! Is this who you want to be? Do you want to hurt other people? Do you want to hurt yourself? Do you want to get arrested? Of course you do, youre a punk rocker! Youre all about puke, sex, blood, beer and violence! Yeah! 1977! Oi oi oi! Live Fast Die Young, Anarchy, chaos, destruction, fuck everything, oi!!! Okay well guess what?

Anarchy doesnt work becasue of people like you.

Bulldog Trash Basket Productions is all about anarchy and youth, but look what happens when one person steps out of line? Everything falls apart. In order for this scene to continue functioning I need YOU, yes you, you and everyone else who steps foot into that Policemans lodge at a BDTB show, or actually any show in Anderson, to cooperate. I need you to behave and act like a human being and respect everyone else. I dont care how low or vile this person is, respect him or her, at least until the show is over. Got it? Good. I've decided to lay down some rules becasue this is getting absolutely out of control.

1. Anyone caught hitting, punching, slapping, kicking, biting, or harming anyone else in a vicious or non-friendly manner, unless in self defense will be banned from BDTB shows forever and your picture will be added to "the wall of shame". Exceptions can be made but will be decided upon by the scene in whole.

2. Anyone trying to sneak any kind of alchohol into the venue will be asked to leave and i have the right to give your beer away, this goes for The Dipleased as well.

3. Anyone caught stealing or drinking the Policemens beer will be banned from BDTB shows and socially exiled from the Anderson punk scene FOREVER.

4. ABSOLUELY NO FAKE BLOOD CAN BE APPLIED INSIDE THE BUILDING! and no dying hair in the bathroom (This ones for you Kennedy Brain Matter!)Okay so this isnt an actual rule but more of a courtesy. If you do clean it up you slob!

5. Anyone caught throwing a pool ball in the glass foyer will be banned from BDTB shows forever (seriously!)

6. You either pay with money, labor, or food for Food Not Bombs, or i wont let you in (not even you Kyle Ross!)I look at it like this, I'm not selling you the bands you are chipping in to throw the show. Everyone has to do their part or it will just stop happening. No more "I'm with the band" or "I dont get paid until next week" or "It's my birthday" I dont care who you are, if youre there you need to help out.

For those of you that missed the shows this weekend (Boy On fire Productions friday the 31st and BDTB Saturday the 1st) I'll fill you in. On Friday some stupid emo kid thew a pool ball through a window. You are an idiot, you are imature and I hope you are drowning in your own guilt. Because of this the cops had to check in on us a few times the next day. Everything was tense and everyone (me) was nervous. Little John passed out in the kitchen but thanks to Seth he didnt go to jail. Then during KBM's set Mike from the Mediocres got the shit beat out of him for supoosedly grabbing some girls boob. Everyone freaked out and it was more like a small scale riot then a common punk show fight.
Thankyou Mike for playing guitar and drums with a broken wrist, thanks Seth for hiding drunks, thankyou Sly from the Displeased for being super strong and keeping Mike from killing the deathlock guy who beat him up, Thanks Danny from Kennedy Brain Matter for not being mad at me, thanks Pat for pulling deathlock guy off of mike, thanks to the police for never showing up...No thanks to Steph who called the cops, the girl who got grabbed for not turning around and grabbing Mike back, no thanks to the deathlock guy (you should have told me instead of taking matters into your own huge fists), and no thanks to Sid Viscious for making the punk scene so violence oriented.
Please do what you can to keep this shit from happening again. Punk should be about unity, and what happened on Saturday wasnt unity. If you have a problem with someone take them outside and confront them, dont just assume you know whats inside thier head and beat them down. We all have the same taste in music, ideas, and goals so it shouldnt be this hard for us to get along. If things dont get better I'm going to call it quits, i dont want to risk one of my good friends getting killed, or me ending up in jail. so if youre going to come to shows behave yourself and act like a real person!

There are tons of shows coming up! Click here and then read, then go to them. I've pretty much got every weekend I can possibly manage booked. Hopefully i can take a break from shows this summer to work on more zine friendly projects. If youre a band playing one of these shows and ive been blowing you off, dont worry the show is still on and you're still playing. I'm hoping to work on YCKMD and maybe do make something diffrent as well over the summer. i love YCKMD but it's starting to get old. I'd love to have some more people involved with it, help me!! click here for the zine website! Everyone go to the shows!!!
Bye,

The show last Saturday went pretty well even though, I got about half the expected turnout, I made just enough money to pay for the venue, gas for the bands and about half what I need to print the zine. So, yeah it may be a little longer before it's out. Thankyou to Myspace josh, Kyle Ross, Brody, the daleville crew,Joe Submarino and everybody else who came to my show and supported the zine. Fuck everyone who didnt. 5 second cummings played their first show and were absolutely amazing, their parents think so too :), Unsung Heros had Danny from Kennedy Brain Matter tell them that if they played one more song he'd get up and walk, that proves they were great, Room21 played better than I've EVER seen them play even without their bassist, Highway Magic proved to us once again that there is GREAT pop punk and it was so nice to hear some positive music before all the sex and violence of the other bands, and Kennedy Brain Matter blew everyone away as usual. Danny from KBM and I are talking about doing a fest with half Indiana bands and half Michigan bands sometime in June, more about this VERY soon.
PLEASE DONATE MONEY TO THE ZINE!!!!!!

GO TO THE NEW YCKMD SITE OR BE UNCOOL! http://youthculturekmd.tripod.com

Kelso what the hell did you do to the "add text" thingy it's all html now and I dont get it. You better fix this shit soon!...Get over the Zero Boys thing, there will be more chances to see them. Why dont you just walk on over to Future Shock and throw yourself at Tufty. :)That would be just as good. Alan, the mystery show isnt a mystery show anymore now that I know whos playing I suppose you could still call it that but it's really not much of a mystery haha. The FOP is indeed amazing.
Some shit happened and the zine is gonna be a little later than I originally thought. JUST WAIT!

I shut down the other site and I'm building on this one.  I'll be adding a few new features as well as more frequent updates.  I plan on sticking to the original format so if it looks the same, it's because it is.

Well, I think I'm going to try and take over this site instead of building a new one.  Sybilla and I have talked a little about making it the Anderson Scene page like the Muncie scene page.  Only time will tell.

Where's the old website!? I deleted it! Alan is making me a new website becuase you wouldnt, you poop you should be very ashamed of yourself.
Besides that, The show on Friday went pretty well, thanks to the bands that played that were nice people and not assholes, we love you! No thanks to all the dead beat college idiots who didnt come because they were too busy crying and listening to My Chemical Romance. Oh yeah, Phantom the creator of Themunciescene.com is the coolest person ever. I hope his ass heals soon.
Ingsoc was chosen as number one for YCKMD Fanzine's Top 10 local bands of 2005. Yep, thats right. The list will be in YCKMD #6 that will be released if, and only if you go to the above shows because I have no money to print it. Hopefully I can print it in mid-Feburary but, you'll probably just wipe your ass with it anyway.

Have a nice day and eat glass,
